Precious Women

Photo: Lucinda Irvine & Diana Wood.Precious Women - new, fresh, exciting women who have an important role to play in society, influencing their home & community.

Precious Women believe that it is changed people who will change other people. For people to change they need help, support, encouragement and, most of all, someone to believe in them. Our vision is the creation of a group of women who can give others the freedom to grow. This will happen through empowerment, thereby developing confidence and self esteem. If a woman has all these things she will be able to motivate others.

Do you want to see lives changed through you? People are crying out for someone to listen to them; often they are helpless with nowhere to turn.

Reflections on 'Looking Good and Feeling Great' Seminar

Well, what can I say? Someone came into the room at lunchtime and thought we had been having a party!

This seminar was a winner. There was such an atmosphere of joy from the very start. The 53 delegates really enjoyed being together. Maybe it's because they started the day off with Danish pastries and coffee as they entered the function room?

Jean Wood (no relation), who had her own beauty salon for over twenty years, gave a wonderful demonstration of how to look after your skin and then showed us how to apply our make-up in such a way that it would stay on. There was plenty of interaction with the audience as well and the women felt able to ask questions.

After a coffee break it was difficult to get the women to settle down for the next session - they were very excited, talking to each other and having a great time being together.

I spoke on the subject of STRESS and gave handouts of the information, practical advise on how to cope with stress, and suggested exercises to alleviate stress.I also spoke about how Jesus said "today has enough worries of its' own - do not worry about tomorrow - tomorrow will take care of itself."(Matt 6:34 paraphrased). I finished off by praying for the women.

We then went off for lunch - it was well presented and hot! After lunch my daughter Jennifer gave out an assortment of chocolates for the women to enjoy with their coffee.

The afternoon session began with a comedy sketch/drama based on Trinny & Susannah's "What not to wear" - lots of laughter for everyone!

Next up came Barbara Prezner who spoke about the importance of what we put into our bodies and then demonstrated some exercises to keep us supple. Someone shouted from the audience "who needs Rosemary Conley?"

Donna Bell, who has overcome cancer, then shared how she had successfully (and safely) come off HRT treatment.

Last, but certainly not least, Lucinda Irvine spoke about 'Looking Good & Feeling Great!" Lucinda spoke about the importance of how we see and present ourselves.

The day was packed full of information yet also full of fun, rest and joy. The women had a real 'away-day' - full of refreshment.

We received tremendously good feedback from the evaluation forms. For example - "this was an interesting seminar applicable to women of all ages."

Best wishes
